BC Performance Team

A new concept for Competitive BCAA Archers

 If you are a serious Target competitor, this concerns you!

How to join the Team

·         Any BCAA member in good standing may join.

·         The registration cost is $60 for adults and $50 for Juniors and Cadets

·         Complete the BCPT application form and sign the Athlete Agreement (BCAA web site – follow the link to the BC Performance Team page and submit it before July 11, 2009 (Applications will be accepted after that date but a Team vest and Nationals funding will not be available for late registrants)

What do you get?

The plan is to expand benefits in future years but for 2008, you get;

·         A high-quality personalized embroidered shooting vest which can be worn at Opening Ceremonies and medal presentations as well as for shooting. These vests have a retail value of about $70.

·         Support Funding for the 2009 Canadian Nationals in Montréal, provided

o   An application with payment is received before the July 11, 2009 deadline and,

o   At least four scores have been posted from registered FITA rounds between August 19, 2008 and July 28, 2009.

·         An opportunity to be selected to shoot on the BC Provincial Fred Usher Cup team

Support Funding takes two forms

·         Travel Allowance

Any BCPT member who qualifies as above for support funding for the Nationals will receive some travel allowance based on the extent of his/her participation in the various events at the Nationals (Field Championship, Target Championship, Fred Usher Cup, FCA Open Cadet Open). A point system is used to award allowances with more money going to BCPT members who compete in more events. Members who compete in both the Canadian Field and Target Nationals are guaranteed at least $100 in travel support.

·         Performance Awards

Points are awarded to BCPT members based on their scores achieved in the Canadian Field and Target Championship events, their placing in the FCA Open events and any National Championship records they set. Performance awards to each member are made proportional to the points earned. Details of the system are available on the BCAA web site
