·       Must declare the class in which the archer is going to shoot. Classes will be as found in the Archery Canada rule book, as these will be the rules and classes shot at the Provincials, and the Nationals. Classes may be found in the Archery Canada rule book on the Archery Canada website, in chapter eleven.

·       Must shoot the BC Provincial 3D Championships Placement in the BC Provincial 3D Championships will be used to select the team based on the established handicapping system . Funding to go to the Provincials may be available under our Travel and Project Grant. See Travel Grant criteria for details. Youth may apply under the Sports Funder travel Grant Program.

·       The Provincial team is made up of eight archers competing in all classes and age groups, excluding peewee. The exception to this will be that when the Nationals are in Alberta we will send a team of 10 archers, when they are in B.C. we will send a Team of 12 archers, this is due to reduced travel costs.

·       We will select up to two archers in all classes based on the handicapped results, and will select up to three archers in M50(m), BHR(m), and BHO(m) as these classes represent over 50% of the archers at the Nationals.

 ·       YOUTH TEAM MEMBERS – Given the amount of money the BCAA dedicates to youth programs, youth will be eligible for the Provincial 3D team but in a limited capacity. No more than 2 youth total can qualify for the team. Youth are subject to the same handicapping system as adults to make chances of qualification even across the board.

Youth team members MUST have a parent/ guardian/ or adult chaperone accompany them to the Nationals. This accompanying adult will be responsible for direct supervision of the youth at all times. This includes age categories that require a chaperone on course, whether it be a shooting chaperone or not. The youth will have all benefits of being a team member made available to them, but, the BCAA athletes and representative will not assume any responsibility for the supervision of the youth at any time. Given this, the BCAA will require a letter attached to any youth decleration stating who the youth’s accompanying chaperone is going to be and that the chaperone understands their supervisory responsibilities. Chaperones will receive no funding.

·       In the past, expenses for our 3D Team Leader to attend the 3D Nationals were deducted from the pool of money dedicated to the 3D team. This is no longer the case. All available funding will be split equally among the athletes of Team B.C., after uniform costs are deducted

·        Team members will receive the following from the BCAA: Team Shirt, Team hat, funding support paid at the 3D Nationals, and a team leader/coach at the 3D Nationals. Current funding levels provide for $6000 allocated for Western Provinces and $8000 allocated for Eastern Provinces. However, funding levels can change on a year to year basis so be sure to check for available funds for the current year.

·       All athletes must sign an Athlete Code of Conduct. Violation of this code of conduct will result in loss of funding.
